This year we will launch the seventh edition of the
Making New Waves Festival, this time with the title
of Making New Waves.hu. The name reflects the new
structure of our annual festival according to which
every second year we will present mainly Hungarian
composers' pieces. And we will do it regenerating
an old tradition, unfortunately very rare in the
Hungarian concert life, the tradition of
comissions. It means the core of the programnme
will consist of pieces specially comissioned for
Making New Waves. This year we have been the proud
inspirators of three chamber music pieces, three
ensemble pieces and a multimedia opera.
The festival programme will be completed with creative workshops, where the main focus will be put on originating new artistic products. It means out target groups are young artists, who will be challenged to work out new compositions, performances in very short time. To make this process as successful as possible, we invited very special artists as workshop-leaders, whose artistic talent, personal commitment end experience will inspire the participants. The pieces created during the workshops will be presented at the closing concert of the festival. |
