Sound/Image - audiovisual workshop led by: Duncan CHAPMAN [UK], Stewart COLLINSON [UK] 23rd - 27th of Febr.
The sound/image workshop will explore ways in which
composers and visual artists/film-makers can create
audio/visual work collectively using a range of
digital and analogue manipulative tools. The
emphasis will be on creating a piece in
collaboration from a common starting point where
the roles of sound and image are seen as flexible
and not necessarily serving the purpose of telling
a story.
The moving image can be abstract, reduced to its basic components of light, colour and movement. It may be that there is counterpoint between the rhythm of images and the sound materials. The project will create pieces that include an element of live performance so that the artists involved will "play" their pieces using live manipulation software / hardware which might include live sampling, diffusion, live image manipulation and feedback techniques... |
